COMMON QUESTIONS
Why install low voltage landscape lighting? Top
  • Security - High voltage floodlights leave shadows and unseen areas around a property. A better choice is strategically placed low voltage lights that provide low levels of even illumination.
  • Safety - Low voltage lighting is the ideal choice for illuminating walkways and entranceways. This ensures that residents and visitors can safely navigate around the property.
  • Useability - Illuminating the private areas of a property allows for evening enjoyment of decks, sitting areas, and recreational spaces.
  • Beauty - Low voltage lighting accenting accentuates the shapes and textures of a landscape and its structures. Lighting designers not only paint pictures with light, they create dramatic scenes that give a dynamic experience of the property.
  • Economy - Low voltage lighting consumes about 1/3 the electricity compared to high voltage and is far less expensive to install.
  • Property Value - Increasing property value is always a welcome added attraction to beautifying your home.
Landscape Lighting is usually installed along walkways, steps, shrubs, around pools, along driveways, in trees giving it that moonlight illumination, walls against the house, statues, etc. Creative use of these lights can usually provide the most dramatic effects of your landscape lighting.

How does low voltage lighting work? Top
  • A transformer is used to step down the 120-volt house current to just 12 volts. It should be plugged into a GFCI-protected outdoor electrical outlet. This outlet should be fitted with a "while-in-use" cover, which is an oversized plastic box that closes over and around the power cord. The transformer needs to have enough capacity to support the cumulative wattage of the lights in the system. Between fixtures, the cable is normally buried in a trench about 6 inches deep. A time clock with a photocell sensor will control the duration you choose for your lighting.
  • Unlike the landscape lighting of old, today's fixtures come in a wide range of shapes and colors. As long as you have a nearby outlet, we can provide one for you, you will be able to give your home and yard a welcoming glow when the sun goes down.
  • Our Professional Grade Lighting line includes a wide range of specific purpose outdoor lighting fixtures, weatherproof transformers, specialty insulated cables, and a variety of landscape lighting accessories. All have the latest and most advanced features.

Why CAST SOLID BRONZE Fixtures and Components? Top

DURABLITY

Cast solid bronze fixtures are impervious to the environment. Bronze withstands corrosion better than copper, brass, steel and aluminum. In addition, the internal electrical components are precision engineered from stainless steel and all wire connections are crimped and soldered for additional protection. Another important feature is the No-Ox tin coating used on all connecting wires. Cast offers a Lifetime warranty on solid bronze and stake fixtures.
